Fear of Rejection: Luke 22:54-62: When People are Big and God is small
October 17, 2011 05:15 AM PDT
Many times when we are exposed of who we are, we immediatley think, "what will they do to me?" These questions can drive us to deny the truth to save our own skin. That's what Peter does when he is questioned three times if he was with Jesus, but he still denies Him despite the fact he knows that Jesus is God. Even though we know that Jesus has a glorious future for His people, we still let the fear of being rejected get in the way. In the end, fear is ridiculous, but it's prominent in everyones' lives. We all have fears; we just need to get over them. The Colossal Cover Up: When People are Big and God is small
October 12, 2011 11:03 AM PDT
Pastor Fred spoke about "The Colossal Cover Up!" From Proverbs 29:25, we allow the fear of man to be a snare in our lives. We all have a fear of being exposed and people seeing our true faults and sinful flesh. If we can trully believe as 1 John 4:18-19 says, "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. We love Him because He first loved us." May our fear of man be changed to a proper fear of God. Stay tuned for next week. When People are Big and God is Small: Love Tanks With a Leak Proverbs 29:25

Ignite: My Readiness Can Change the World
September 20, 2011 06:44 AM PDT
Many times we are not ready to speak about Christ because we don't have a prepared answer to offer. In Acts 8:26-35, Phillip evangelizes to the Ethiopean. So he is prepared to give him the Gospel. Phillip's prepared answer allows him to be ready for the Great Commission. Since Phillip is ready for the Great Commission, the Holy Spirit is able to use him, because of his submission to the Holy Spirit. However the Holy Spirit cannot fully use us if we're not ready to carry out the Great Commission, and we're not ready for the Great Commission if we're not ready to give an answer. In this podcast, you will find out what it takes to be ready. So, are you ready? Ignite: My Worship Can Change the World
September 11, 2011 04:35 PM PDT
This sunday we learned that the storms of life will come and will prove whether we can withstand the pressures of life, whether we are truly empty or full. Our ignite Principle is that our response to pressure allows us the opportunity to share our faith. As we read from Acts 16: 19-34, Paul and Silas lived a WorshipFULL life, a life that caused the jailer to ask the question, "What must I do to be saved?" So we are taking these 5 habits that God would have us to be WorshipFULL: 1) Regular Devotions, 2) Faithful Sunday Attendance, 3)Active Life Group participation, 4) Consistent Sacrifical Giving and lastly 5)Prayerful & Sincere Witnessing. The storms of life can truly be opportunities for us to share our witness and our faith, but to allow God to ingite our faith to produce in us WorshipFULL men & women for him. Ignite: My Story Can Change the World, John 9

August 22, 2011 12:40 PM PDT
Every family has expectations for how every person should interact with everyone else in the family. The older ought to be respected and set an example for the younger that is worthy of following, whereas the younger should honor their elders and heed their teaching. This often time naturally just happens in our families and, according to Titus 2, this ought to happen in God's Family as well. But have you ever wondered why? Tune in to find out! Galatians 6:11-18 "It's All About _____!"
August 01, 2011 07:36 AM PDT
Paul, while writing to the Galatian churches, was trying to clear away all the clutter that the false teachers had added to the believers' faith. Chapter after chapter Paul reinforces the basics of the faith as he combated the false teaching and in the end, Paul boasted about whom our lives ought to be all about! Tune into this podcast to see how boasting is good and whom are lives are to be all about. "Are You Walking the Law or Following Christ" Gal 5:25-6:10
July 28, 2011 06:21 AM PDT
We got to hear Pastor Fred bring us this next section of our walk through Galatians. He challenged us that in order to do the good being instructed in 6:1-6,9-10, it was going to mean that we NOT make the Galatians mistake of "Walking the Law". Pastor Fred illustrated this point using his invisible dog "Law". "We don't walk the Law, the Law walks us and all it does is show where we have messed up". Pastor was adamant about us not taking the freedom of grace that we have in Christ and turning into just another version of the Old Testament Law. Instead, we ought to take that freedom and choose to Follow Jesus out of the Love we have for Him who died for our sins and provided complete forgiveness. The final challenge was for us to start at the last words Jesus spoke, "It is Finished". Here, Jesus fulfilled the Law and now wants to walk those results in those that choose to believe in Him. Jesus isn't impressed with us trying to walk the Law. However, He is in love with those that choose to walk "With Him". Galatians 5:16-26 "Belong to ____; Be with _____"
July 17, 2011 11:32 AM PDT
We have a tendency to focus on the effects, rather than the causes, and such is often the case when it comes to how we act. Our attention can be so riveted upon the bad effects (acts of sinful nature) of our flesh as we desire to get rid of them that we never consider what caused them. In this passage Paul reveals both the causes to the effects that are our actions and how it is that the desired effects (fruit of the Spirit) come to fruition, instead of the acts of sinful nature. Galatians 5:1-15: Free to ____!
July 10, 2011 04:44 PM PDT
At stake in the Galatian churches was the very freedom Christ died for and what that freedom enables Christians to do; this is the same today! Numerous speculations about how to get to Heaven continually press in upon the Truth of God's Word and the time is ripe for God's people to stand firm in the freedom we have and... well you'll just have to tune into this podcast to find out! Galatians 3:23-4:7
July 03, 2011 04:19 PM PDT
There is to be great freedom in the family of faith! Does that freedom ever get challenged and if yes, how so? Tune into this podcast to hear about the freedom we have in the family of faith because of whom our Heavenly Father is. Galatians 3:1-14 "Saved by _____?"
June 27, 2011 06:53 AM PDT
It's commonly held that in addition to human life, God exists and there is a distance between human beings and God. Many have speculated as to how that distance can be bridged, but yet, all of the various speculations fit into one of two categories which are completely antithetical. How is that distance between humans and God bridged? Christ followers are saved by___ ? Well you'll just have to tune into this podcast by Pastor Scott on Galatians 3:1-14 to find out! What reason will we have to give? What evidence do we have? Tune in and find out! Galatians 1:1-10
June 05, 2011 05:02 PM PDT

June 08, 2011 11:10 AM PDT
The area of our finances can be the most challenging aspect of life to wait on God, while still seeking Him through giving, rather than telling God to wait because we cannot give. God has given us all that we have (1 Tim.6:17, James 1:17), which makes him the Master of it all and us the stewards. So shouldn't we give as God, the master, would have us, the stewards, to give? Tune into this podcast to see how and why God would have us to open up our hand in giving because openhanded giving is the way to living (2 Cor. 9:6-8). While I'm Waiting: Fasting

What if in fasting for God, you actually feasted on God?!? Although in fasting we're to abstain from something, still fasting was designed to be a more fulfilling practice than a depriving one. God desires that when we fast for Him that we'd feast on Him, but we have to pull a chair up to the spiritual table. Listen in and see just what that entails as we Fast for God to Feast on God! While I'm Waiting: Prayer
June 08, 2011 09:06 AM PDT

In this podcast we will be digging into Jude 20-21 and what it means the truly “pray in the Holy Spirit.” While I'm Waiting
June 08, 2011 09:00 AM PDT
Most of us are waiting for something most of the time; maybe you're waiting for a new job, for a family member to be healed, for someone to become interested in spiritual things. One of Scripture's most challenging exhortations it to "wait on the Lord." But what will you do while you're waiting? We discovered that true, Biblical, waiting always involves seeking (Lam. 3:25) and that Christ would have us in the time we have left on this earth confidently seek out our God through faith while we're waiting. Such Confidence in Christ only comes through Faith. (Heb. 10:19-22) Live Like You Were Dying: Embrace Eternity

Our days are numbered, but we do not know how many we have left, just like the rich fool of Luke 12:13-21 who much to his surprise was in his final hours. The rich fool thought that he would have many years of easy living ahead of him, when all he really had was hours. Just as eternity was just around the corner for him, the same could hold true for us and that's all the more reason to Embrace Eternity. Discover how to do just that in this past Sunday's podcast. If only we could see the un-forgiveness in our hearts as clearly as TSA can see the things in our carry ons. Are you carrying on un-forgiveness in your heart? Ask God to reveal that to you and for Him to remind you that as you've been forgiven in full, so should you also forgive others in full (Mt. 18:21-35). Check out the latest podcast from LifeSong and be prepared to leave your rock hard sin of un-forgiveness behind as you will be challenged to give that forgiveness you've been denying. At LifeSong, we have been challenged to "Live Like We Were Dying," focusing on relationships, and specifically bettering the way we connect with one another. In the second message of this series we learned to Speak Sweeter and in this past message we discovered how to Love Deeper by seeing how Mary loved on the Lord deeply (John 12:1-8). Examine that scripture and listen to the podcast to see 3 practical steps you can take towards Loving Deeper. Live Like You Were Dying: Speak Sweeter
June 08, 2011 08:10 AM PDT
This past Sunday in our Live Like You Were Dying series we learned that as we invest in relationships we need to Speak Sweeter. What are some of the "last words" you have spoken to those around you? Would you want to change them? Are they the words Christ would have you to speak? Check out the podcast from this past Sunday to discover three action steps toward Speaking Sweeter. Live Like You Were Dying
June 08, 2011 07:23 AM PDT
What would you do if you had just 30 days to live? Without a doubt you would re-prioritize your day to day living; you'd probably live with a sense of urgency due to the fact of your impending passage into eternity. The truth is though, that we are not promised a tomorrow; eternity could be just around the corner and that alone gives all the more reason for us to "Live Like Were Dying" today. As Paul in Romans 13:11-12 speaks with a sense of urgency about the oncoming of eternity, urging the Romans to live right, we learned that we need to live with a sense of urgency about the oncoming of our eternity and in so doing, focus ourselves not upon what will endure into eternity, but rather upon who. We need to turn our eyes to the Lord foremost and secondly focus upon the relationships we are in now. Stay tuned in the weeks ahead in order to learn how we ought to interact in those relationships! |
